Ilish Macher Raita


  • 1 cup ilish (hilsa) fish, cooked and flaked
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 cucumber, peeled and grated
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green chili, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon coriander leaves, chopped
  • Salt to taste


  1. Cook the ilish fish and flake it into small pieces. Keep it aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk the yogurt until it becomes smooth.
  3. Add the grated cucumber, chopped onion, chopped green chili, and chopped coriander leaves to the bowl.
  4. Add the flaked ilish fish to the bowl and mix well.
  5. Add salt to taste and mix well again.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a serving bowl and chill it in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.
  7. Garnish with a few more coriander leaves before serving.
