Ilish Macher Bharta
Ingredients:
- 1 cup ilish (hilsa) fish, cooked and flaked
- 1 large potato, boiled and mashed
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2-3 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste
- 1 tablespoon garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- 2-3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
Instructions:
- Cook the ilish fish and flake it into small pieces. Keep it aside.
- Boil the potato and mash it in a bowl. Keep it aside.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan or kadhai over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onions and green chilies to the pan and fry until the onions turn translucent.
- Add the ginger paste and garlic paste to the pan and fry for another minute.
- Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt to the pan and fry for another minute.
- Add the flaked ilish fish to the pan and stir well.
- Add the mashed potatoes to the pan and mix well.
- Cook for a few more minutes until the mixture is well blended and heated through.
- Remove the pan from heat and let it cool down.
- Transfer the mixture to a serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves before serving.
