Ilish Macher Kabab
Ingredients:
- 2 cups ilish (hilsa) fish, boneless and skinless
- 1 large potato, boiled and mashed
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2-3 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste
- 1 tablespoon garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
Instructions:
- Wash the ilish fish and remove the bones and skin. Cut the fish into small pieces and keep it aside.
- Boil the potato and mash it in a bowl. Keep it aside.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan or kadhai over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onions and green chilies to the pan and fry until the onions turn translucent.
- Add the ginger paste and garlic paste to the pan and fry for another minute.
- Add red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt to the pan and fry for another minute.
- Add the ilish fish pieces to the pan and fry for a few minutes until the fish is cooked through.
- Remove the pan from heat and let the mixture cool down.
- Add the mashed potato to the mixture and mix well.
- Shape the mixture into small patties or kababs.
- Heat a griddle or frying pan over medium heat and grease it with a little oil.
- Place the kababs on the griddle or frying pan and cook on both sides until they turn golden brown.
- Garnish with coriander leaves before serving.
